What started as a hobby and love of fishing, turned into a passion for superior fishing products and apparel!

I grew up hunting and fishing. I have fond memories of spending the weekend at my uncle’s camp in Belle River listening to my father, Jack Winston, and his brother, Tootsie Winston telling stories by the water.  My father was a well-known fisherman in his younger days often winning tournaments in the Red Stick Fishing Club.   My mother, Diana Winston won a tournament as they often fished together.  Roy Winston, my uncle who was a retired NFL player fished NFL Pro amateur tournaments.  He and Lonnie Warwick created and sold the “Tennessee Shad” bait in the early 80’s.

As with most people, hobbies are pushed aside to tend to career and family.  I began fishing again in 2017.  While playing with a weight and string, I thought to myself this would be a cool logo. . . thus the creation of “Southern Punch”.  From there, apparel to promote my logo and experimenting with various fishing products lead me to grow.

Southern Punch will have a new variety of shirts in mid-September as well as continued sale of hats and tungsten weights.

I am a member of various fishing clubs; “Fishers of Men” is one of my favorites. I enjoy promoting and supporting high school fishing, local fundraising, and fundraising for Wounded Warriors Veterans event held by the Westside Bass Masters Club.
